Saw Hickey play in my hometown of Tulsa, OK at the Ikon, probably 1996 or 97. I'm playing a bunch of their vinyl right now that I hadn't listened to in ages. They were fucking great, one of our favorites. Glad this site exists to archive the cool shit that Matty and them made.

I just was thinking about Hickey for some reason today at work, and I see that he passed away. The band stayed at my house for a few nights back in 1996 (I think) and we all had a great time. A few weeks later I got a package from Matty, with a delay pedal in it. It said "Louis, you said you wanted a delay pedal so you got one. My all your dreams come true."

I never forgot that. RIP Matty.
